Europass Mobility
Europass Mobility is a tool that is fundamental as evidence of the competences and skills acquired during a mobility. It records the skills and competences achieved during a work-based learning or study experience abroad.
As an in-company tutor, you can make use of this tool in collaboration with your apprentices and the organization that sent them, to be able to describe the activities that they have performed and attest to the development of their skills. When returning to their countries, apprentices will present this document, used all over Europe, to give an account of their experience in your company; for example, when they go to job interviews. By using Europass Mobility, you are offering your apprentices the possibility of developing skills within the European educational and vocational training area. In addition to this, by highlighting the presence of the apprentice in your company, you contribute to the increased openness of your colleagues and your business.
The Europass Mobility aims at:
- boosting transparency and visibility of European mobility experiences, helping holders to show better what they have gained through this experience, particularly in knowledge, skills and competences
- encouraging recognition of experiences gained abroad
- promoting European mobility for learning purposes, by making its results more visible.
The document can include an individual’s roles and responsibilities, job-related skills, language skills, digital skills, organization and managerial skills, communication skills. It can complement the information provided by a CV, while also valorise and show an apprentice’s experience, competences and skills when applying for a job. In order to allow a WBL user or an apprentice to record their experience and skills on a Europass Mobility document, it is necessary that the sending organization registers with the National Europass Centre. Afterwards the sending partner and the host company will complete the relevant documents and the apprentice will receive the Europass Mobility upon completion of the WBL experience.
