               Module 4

               What is this Chapter about?

The fourth module focuses on two in-company tutor’s key competences: assessment of
learning and self-assessment. The first part of the module is devoted to the analysis of various
strategies and tools to ensure constructive feedback and appropriate assessment of the

apprentices’ learning in order to ensure they can achieve the set learning outcomes and
complete the apprenticeship successfully. The module analyses the issue of constructive
feedback and provides tips to enable in-company tutors to understand what constructive
feedback is and how they can provide it; the module then goes on with explaining how to
carry out the apprentices’ assessment. The second part of the module is instead devoted to
the in-company tutor’s self-assessment and provides tips and resources to carry out an
effective self-assessment for the tutor to identify and fill in any competence and knowledge
               gap and improve his/her performance.

In this section of the guide we will provide you with some activities and exercises to further
practice what you have learned through module 4 and check your progress and your areas

               for improvements.
